Dairy Farm
The most common type of farm in Quebec`s rural landscapes. It is generally made up of a houe, a silo for silage, a grain silo, a cow barn, and a dairy. Mixed farming is practiced: cows are raised for milk, and hay and other cereals. Also they have land devoted to market gardening.
Livestock Farm
Devoted to animal production. Its facilities include animal barns and a nursery for young animals.
Grain Farm
Cereals are the main crops. Buildings and motorized equipment usually include a grain silo, a grain dryer and a combine harvester.
Spcialized Crop Farm
Devoted to a specific crop. Vegetables, fruits, tobacco, flowers or shrubs are mainly grown here. Either in greenhouses or in fields.
